The service
Yachtara is an app for running a boat: weather and route planning, maintenance records and documents, anchor watch, crew and vessel management, and a sailing community. The website presents the product; the app is where the work happens.
Early access
The app is in early access. It is provided as-is: features may change, and availability is not guaranteed. We label what is live and what is still coming, and we ask you to hold us to that.
Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You can leave at any time; see the privacy policy for how deletion works.
Your content
What you create and upload stays yours: vessel records, documents, posts, and media. You grant us the license needed to host, store, and display that content so the service can function — nothing more. You must have the rights to what you upload.
Acceptable use
- Keep community spaces respectful; no harassment or abuse.
- No unlawful content, no infringement of others' rights.
- No attempts to disrupt, probe, or overload the service.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
Safety disclaimer — read this
Yachtara is a planning and monitoring aid. It is not a certified navigation device, and not a substitute for official nautical charts, official weather sources, proper watchkeeping, or good seamanship.
Anchor watch is an aid, not a guarantee. It depends on your device staying powered and unmuted, with GPS available and the app permitted to run.
The skipper remains solely responsible for the vessel and crew at all times.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service, which is provided as-is during early access. Nothing in these terms limits the mandatory rights you have as a consumer under Belgian and EU law.
Payments
No paid subscriptions are offered yet. Before any checkout opens, these terms will be updated with the applicable payment and cancellation conditions.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we update this page and its date below. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes belong to the competent courts of the district of the company's registered office, without prejudice to mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules.
